Q: Are we required to wear masks?

A: Yes due to CDC COVID-19 Policy: www.cdc.gov

The Ware Center (TWC) is working to ensure The Ware Center registrations and employees’ safety and security. TWC officials remain in close contact with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Philadelphia Department of Health (PDH), the City of Lancaster, and other business partners to provide a safe environment for the community.

Q: Are you providing childcare?

A: No, we aren’t providing childcare during the conference. Children are welcome but parents are responsible for their children.

Q: What is the World Deaf Refugee Day (WDRD) Conference?

A: The conference’s goal is to provide available resources, services, and demonstration of current 

Q: Who can participate in the World Deaf Refugee Day Conference?

A: Anyone! We encourage Deaf/Hard of Hearing Refugees, their parents/siblings, social workers, educators, advocates, case managers, and others to join us. Other attendees may include those who work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing refugees.

Q: When is World Deaf Refugee Day Conference?

A: Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 9:00 am EST to 5:00 pm EST. We will start as early as 8:00 am for a looping PowerPoint slide displaying sponsors’ logos and promotional videos.

A: The Ware Center in Lancaster, PA

Q: How can I take part in the World Deaf Refugee Day Conference?

Q: Do I need to be a member of World Deaf Refugee Day then can attend the WDRD Conference?

A: There are no requirements to become a paid member to attend this conference. This event is open to the public and will benefit everyone. 

Q: Where can I find the World Deaf Refugee Day (WDRD)’s Conference & Agenda?

A: The program will be released the last week of April.

Q: How do I register for the WDRD Conference?

Q: How do I become an exhibitor or sponsor the WDRD Conference?

A: Good that you ask! We have slots available for exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities. Please click on the exhibitors and sponsors sections on this web page to learn more or contact us at refugeetouch@gmail.com for further questions.

Q: What time zone will the sessions be presented in?

A: All events will be presented in Eastern Standard Time.

Q: What platform should I use to attend the Virtual Workshop?

A: You can either use Mac or PC to access the Zoom platform. The link will be provided to those who register for the event, so make sure you register for the Expo.

Q: How do I log in on the day of the event to view the conference?

A: You will receive a link upon registration to use the day of the conference.

Q: Will the registrants get a full refund if the hotel announces they will cancel the event?

A: YES. To avoid a $50 cancellation penalty, we suggest you wait until around May. This is the time when the hotel decides whether to cancel the conference or not. 

Q: Should I wait until June 2021 to find out if the hotel has canceled the event?

A: YES. In June 2021, the hotel will decide if the event will go on or if they will cancel it.  If the event goes on and someone wants to cancel, there is a $50 cancellation fee.  It is strongly recommended to wait until June 2021.

Q: Can the registrants cancel their registrations and request a refund before June 2021?

A: YES. If someone prefers to cancel before June 2021 and wants to have a refund now, the WDRD 2021 Accountant will send the refund. However, there will be a $50.00 cancellation fee deducted from the refund.
