A: Anyone! We encourage Deaf/Hard of Hearing Refugees, their parents/siblings, social workers, educators, advocates, case managers, and others to join us. Other attendees may include those who work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing refugees.
Q: When is World Deaf Refugee Day Conference?
A: Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. We will start as early as 8:00 am for a looping PowerPoint slide displaying sponsors’ logos and promotional videos.

Q: Do I need to be a member of World Deaf Refugee Day and then can attend the WDRD Conference?
A: There are no requirements to become a paid member to attend this conference. This event is open to the public and will benefit everyone.

Q: What time zone will the sessions be presented in?
A: All events will be presented in Eastern Standard Time.
Q: How do I log in on the event day to view the conference?
A: You will receive a link upon registration to use the conference day.
Q: Will the registrants get a full refund if the hotel announces they will cancel the event?
A: YES. To avoid a $50 cancellation penalty, we suggest you wait until around May. This is the time when the hotel decides whether to cancel the conference or not.
Q: Should I wait until June 2023 to find out if the hotel has canceled the event?
A: YES. In June 2023, the hotel will decide if the event will go on or if they will cancel it. If the event goes on and someone wants to cancel, there is a $50 cancellation fee. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to wait until June 2023.
Q: Can the registrants cancel their registrations and request a refund before June 2023?
A: YES. If someone prefers to cancel before June 2023 and wants a refund now, the WDRD 2023 Accountant will send the refund. However, a $50.00 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund.
